The Grunt

Twenty minutes of high-intensity grind to rip the flesh right off your face. This is good stuff because you can really hear the influence of Hardcore and those awesome first-wave Screamo artists (Saetia, Union of Uranus, etc.) but it's still distinctly grind. The songs aren't that memorable, but you know that's how it's supposed to be. This shit swoops in like a tornado, beats you up, and vanishes…leaving you confused and alone thinking "wtf just happened?". Play just about any track for a 60-second assault.
.) + + Cacophony. Chugging. Good
.) Bass and punk drums. Hardcore influence.
.) + + Longest track on the album (1:51) and starts relatively slowly. Fuck this is a beautiful mess. Good.
.) + + Guitars drops out for screams in beginning. Two big breakdown for headbangs. Good.
.) + Midtempo groover with first-wave screamo octave guitars. The most accessible song so far. Nice.
.) Has breathy deep growls in addition to the screams.
.) + Old-school screamo feel (kinda Union of Uranus) a little less frantic guitars, except for the shrieks. Nice.
.) + Novel riffage. Nice.
.) + Can feel the hardcore influence. Nice.
.) + Gives you a riff that's easy to hold on to, then takes it away. Nice.
.) I dunno what it is but i don't care for this one. Too easy?
.) + + This is probably as close to doom as grind can come. Sludge fans would enjoy. Good.
.) Meh.
.) + + Strong hardcore influence again with the chugging. Song progressively slows down. Good.
.) + + + Cacophony morphs into a stoner riff. Then some tortured slow stuff before ending cacophony. Great!
.) + + Shortest song (0:35). Nice groove. Good.
