Queen of Queens & the Last Man Standing

Solid Swedish singer-songwriter and album. Ventures into several genres but overall I would sum it up as adventurous Americana. Tone is wistful and sad.

Best tracks: 3, 8, 10.
NO FCC.

1. (0:43) An intriguing first taste of the album.
2. (3:48) A laid back track — plucked guitars, gentle singing, subtle bass.
3. (3:55) ***Old school blues.
4. (3:36) More bluegrass. Thumping, toe tapping stuff.
5. (6:49) A solemn ode to a lover. Cool banjo.
6. (2:02) Still very country but sprinkles in some group harmony.
7. (3:38) Another guitar picked song. But there’s a variety of odd, unexpected sound. Creates for a fascinating track.
8. (3:36) ***Slow song. Everything kind of lingers and hangs indefinitely.
9. (4:02) A continuation of the soundscape of the last one. Drawn out horns contrasted with short, staccato piano.
10. (4:48) ***Jazzy vocals and acoustic guitar.
