"War to the death against depravity…depravity is christianity" -- Scratched onto inner margin of LP.
LOCAL death industrial / dark ambient legends return with this 2013 release. Clocking in at around 20 minutes, this is alternately harsh and morbidly beautiful. All tracks are solid but B2 is my favorite. Play a whole side, it's only 10 minutes. This is one of those ultra-rare vinyl-only releases that we were lucky enough to get (only 518 copies pressed). PLAY ANYTHING and MENTION THIS WAS RELEASED ON BLACK HORIZONS!
45rpm
A1.) Creaking metal, ghostly whispers and scratches, distant vaguely dissonant chords, super muffled "beat" that sounds like a heart arrhythmia…makes you wonder if you're having a heart attack. Dark Ambient.
A2.) Beats like distant thunder lead into wall-of-static-distortion and buried echoing screams. Harsh. Backs off into sickly distorted vocals and beat and some swirling static scraping noises, before returning to the fray. Very dynamic.
B1.) Solid death industrial. Slow moving ambient drone with somewhat harsh textures on top. How can something be both disgusting and beautiful at the same time? Abrupt transition to next song...
B2.) + + + Calm. Electronic ocean lightly crashing upon a metallic shore. Builds and pulses. Buried echoey staticked-out vocals. This is the sound of that malignant tumor growing inside your chest that you're serenely unaware of.
