Frozen In Time - Music to Accompany the Films of Ingmar Bergman compilation
A compilation to enjoy in time with the given films of Ingmar Bergman. Each artist with a 20 minute contribution. As one would expect, it is a rather bleak affair, yet still stylistically varied between all the submissions. Curated and presented for maximum introversion and with ritualized playback in mind.
This is cassette III from the Frozen In Time compilation featuring Ryan Unks and King Dude. The associated films and start-times are given in the track descriptions. AWESOME STUFF!!!
Side A (17:30)
Ryan Unks - To accompany the film The Serpent's Egg (starting at 01:39:03)
Ringing synth like a long bell. Slow lazy cavernous drums. Low bass drone. Around 4min, everything fades away to simple lightly modulating synth drone. Brief silence before transitions to slow but sporadic synth mid-tone drone…to my ear this is very reminiscent of early experimental synth compositions. Transition around 13:30 to higher-pitched soft synth tone drones. SILENCE from 15:35 to 16:05 before one last ambient drone.
Side B (19:28) King Dude - To accompany the film Summer with Monka (starting at 00:41:00)
Slow guitars strumming over echoing ambient with occasional old foreign movie samples. Very faint simple rhythmic beat out in the background. Buried whispers. Around 11:30 moves into echoing clicks / taps over lightly pulsing ambient. Post-apocalyptic folk. RIYL Current 93.
