Jack White’s sophomore album is just plain killer. Incorporating many styles all wrapped around a rockin’ core w/ great instrumentation of guitar, bass, drums, keys, fiddle, mandolin, steel gtrs, even a harp. Taking pieces of writings from when he was a young man and fleshing them out, they cut, bite and are beautiful and penetrating. Do not miss!! No FCC’s.

*My Favorites*: Every one.

1. (3:58) Mid. Cymbals, hi-hat, keys, drivin’ & rockin’ w/ slight jazzy undertone
2. (3:39) Mid. Title track. Psyche-y, rockin’ w/ killer FX, gtr solo, late fiddle solo.
3. (3:14) Slow / Mid. Fiddle intro, female back vcl, pedal steel, slight country vibe.
4. (4:09) Mid. Psyche-y trip intro, mellow gets rockin’, almost proggy.
5. (3:53) Mid. INSTRUMENTAL. Maddening halloween noir vibes, killer gtr, fiddle.
6. (2:36) Mid. Anthemic, catchy ditty, rollicking fun.
7. (3:27) Mid. Great piano lines, female back vcls, upbeat.
8. (4:07) Slow / Mid. Mellow and tender w/ great pedal steel and a harp!!
9. (3:50) Mid. Funky rappin’ rockin’ w/ killer lyrics.
10. (3:49) Mid. Acoustic but loud, some stop/starts, killer.
11. (2:36) Mid. Birds intro/outro, just guitar and piano, great metaphoric lyrics.
