Pujol, Kludge. Psychadelic rock / indie pop / southern indie. Pujol is the last name of artist and front man Daniel Pujol. And a kludge is defined as an ill assorted amalgamation of mismatching components that works or a messy and inelegant solution. Daniel offers both definitions to summarize his album and he is spot-on. It is a total mess of high energy pop rock, psychedelic instrumentals, and seriously heavy lyrics. The album was recorded and produced in several locations, but mainly in the office space for a suicide hotline that was under renovation at the time. It shows. Decide for yourself, but I’m not crazy about it. Again upbeat instrumentals and heavy emotional lyrics. 4.(3:12) Upbeat and driving. Good variety and compilation. 5.(3:26) **Upbeat pop. “What I want is you near me” 6.(2:29) *Jay Reatard-esque vocals, punky but glam and pop? 7.(3:29) *Whimsical and weird. Cool vocals and compilation. Song about mutilating self. 8.(3:32) Loud and upbeat with pace. Heavy drums. Whimsical. 9.(3:16) *Whimsical pho-country indie pop. Hilarious lyrics. Waves sampled in background. 10.(1:59) *Cool lyrics. Layers with driving percussion. 11.(8:39) *Pop and upbeat. “Makes me want to reach out”. At 4:45 samples fair with fireworks or something… (4th of July maybe). Picks back up at 6 minutes with a happy b-day song. | ||
