Survival Knife / Loose Power. Post-hardcore / post punk / noise rock / math rock / prog-punk. Former members of Unwound formed a new band. Album is a little rough, but play it if you love that post hardcore sound. RIYL: Unwound, Lungfish, fugazi, slint, shellac, the Jesus Lizard. Play 2, 4, 8 and all tracks are FCC clean.

1. (3:46) Easy but moving punk rock. Vocals sometimes simply phrased almost spoken and other times screamed. “My epiphany tells me”.
2. (3:17) *Again, easy, almost chill punk rock. Post hardcore(ish).
3. (5:02) Heavy bass catcalling distorted guitars. Has a metal feel initially and becomes a rock song. A little bland. “California’s getting old.”
4. (8:01) *Cool 90’s indie rock feel. Chill and relaxed post punk. Good song, but chorus is only okay. Best song so far. Acoustic coda.
5. (5:51) post rock/post hard core. Kind of common indie rock sound. Becomes a psychedelic jam at the end.
6. (4:26) Post rock plus attitude. Okay song. Add a little blues and you’d feel Iggy’s raw power.
7. (8:28) *Rocks out for first 3 min. At 3:30 sings “Too big to fail, send them to jail”. Song about the banks. Several melody change-ups. Rocks out to close.
