Terrific solo release from Blue Highway mandolinist/fiddler Shawn Lane. Top-notch
contemporary bluegrass with great vocals and musicianship.
1 – (2:20) Mountain Songs Of Yesterday* Fine modal Lane original, haunting.
2 – (2:40) Charlestown* Another fine mid-tempo darkish ballad.
3 – (2:44) Top Of The Mountain* Lovely, about family ties, really fine.
4 – (3:30) A Mother’s Prayer* Wonderful vocals on this gospel waltz.
5 – (2:33) It’s Time To Roll* Mid-tempo road song, fine.
6 – (1:38) Hidden Valley* Excellent fiddle (Lane) & mandolin duet.
7 – (2:38) Just Not Today* Mid, modal tune about moonshining (?).
8 – (2:29) We Must Be In Heaven* Slow love ballad, fine vocals.
9 – (3:14) A Little While* Up-tempo road song, great playing & vocals here.
10 – (2:50) Journey Of A Soldier* Lane on solo guitar, fine war ballad, wow!
