THE best Death/Doom/Gothic Metal release of 2014. Helevorn from Spain do not innovate, they just improve a dying genre. 8 brilliant tracks that will render any Doom/Death fan helpless, the lyrics are not too shabby either. This album is quite impressive and features very powerful and yet mellow songs with excellent growls and clean vocals with some surprises thrown into the mix.
1. (6:51) Bleak opening notes, no hope in this track. (4.5 out of 5).
2. (5:02) Early Lacrimas Profundere-esque clean vocals mixed with a heavy dose of growls. (4.5 out of 5)
3. (5:55) Crushing vocal performance to get with extremely depressive riffs. (5 out of 5)
4. (5:14) Katatonia/October Tide worship in the excellent song. (4.5 out of 5)
5. (6:47) Super catchy chorus section, killer drumming and pace in this song. (5 out of 5)
6. (4:49) Draconian-like piece with a very aggressive stand. Instead of getting depressed, some get pissed. (4.5 out of 5).
7. (7:58) Highly moody piece with excellent clean vocal arrangements. (5 out of 5)
8. (6:36) Saving the best for last, punishing Latin/English lyrics greatly complemented by angelic female vocals. Every note in this track reeks of melancholy. (6 out of 5)!!!!!!
