Indie Rock / Rock. Re-issue of Painful in commemoration of Yo La Tengo's 30 years together. Painful is their sixth album and was originally released in 1993. Classic album, love it. RIYL: Pavement, Stereolab, Luna, Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr., Galaxie 500, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine. FCC Clean. Play any and all tracks. 1. (7:05) Big Day Coming. *** Synth organ and mellow vibes. Pretty song. 2. (4:09) From a Motel 6. **** Classic 90's indie rock sound, mellow vocals, and heavy wall of sound guitar fuzz 3. (3:28) Double Dare. *** Mid paced guitar heavy rock, lots of fuzz, great. 4. (1:45) Superstar-Watcher. ** Pretty instrumental/spoken word track, heavy guitar distortion, repetitive melody. 5. (6:03) Nowhere Near. **** Really beautiful song. Mellow and calming. Guitar solo over repetitive fuzzed out melody. Picks up with poppy drums. 6. (4:46) Sudden Organ. **** Organ intro, mid paced guitar driven rock, fantastic percussion, love it. 7. (2:54) A Worrying Thing. **** Percussion driven, soft guitar melody, beautiful song. 8.
