Really fine release from Steve Earle & the Dukes, material ranging from
folk blues to country rock. All of the tracks are great.
– (3:39) Baby Baby Baby (Baby)* Chugging mid-tempo bluesy jam, fine.
– (4:07) You’re The Best Lover That I’ve Ever Had* Mid, nice shuffling rhythm.
– (4:05) The Tennessee Kid* Cool meditation on demonic possession, rocks.
– (2:29) Ain’t Nobody’s Daddy Now* Funny, about womenfolk & freedom.
– (4:27) Better Off Alone* Dark & brooding breakup song, slow-to-mid.
– (2:59) The Usual Time* Rocking back-door-man song, fine electric guitar.
– (3:33) Go Go Boots Are Back* Fun mid rocker, title says it all.
– (2:20) Acquainted With The Wind* Up-tempo country rock about the road.
– (2:35) Baby’s Just As Mean As Me* Funny duet w/Eleanor Whitmore, wow!
– (2:04) Gamblin’ Blues* Mid-tempo, acoustic little tune, nice.
– (3:52) King Of The Blues* Another chugging blues rocker, dark & desperate.
