Theophilus London/Vibes!
Genre: Pop, but with RnB influences
While they don’t have the same sound, this dude has the voice of a groovier Kid Cudi. Really digging the vibes (get it?) of this album. A lot of heavy percussions, and a lot of synth going on. Some of these tracks have a solid old school feel away. Unfortunately some of the better songs (4, 12) can’t be played due to FCCs and need to be cleaned up. But the ones that you can play I would recommend.
Favorites: 1,2,9
1. Sparse but groovy backing instrumental. Midtempo chill. Smooth vocals. And some ambient female vocals on the hook. I really like this track.
2. More upbeat than the last track, and the beat has a slight electronic feel going on with some moving pieces going on in the background.
3. A bit of a rock feel on this one, not my favorite track, but certainly not bad.
4. (FCC: N*****, more) Oh man, one of my favorites. Unfortunately Kanye’s verse is full of FCCs, so can’t play it.
5. (FCC: shit) Heavy drum rhythms on this one, not a lot of any other instruments until the synth filled hook. More of a rapper vibe on this.
6. (FCC: Fuck) A nice synth jam, that grooves throughout the whole track. Unfortunately, FCCs.
7. (FCC: Graphic Descriptions of Sex) Yeah, probably can’t play this one either.
8. Very upbeat. Tribal rhythms with an electronic twist, and some chants in the back of the hook.
9. Really smooth, downtempo, chill song. Smooth vocals, with some female vocals and some French vocals at the end. I actually really dig this one.
10. (FCC: Fuck) Really chill, smooth feel, but a little more upbeat than the last one. Tribal drums and backing female vocals.
11. Uptempo jam, with some synth and drums in the background. Sounds like an old school RnB track to me.
12. (FCC: Fuck) Probably one of the chillest songs on the album, really downtempo groove, old school feel.
