Genre: jazz? jazz. jazz! math-rock, industrial

Experimental jazz from the always kickass Cuneiform Records. This young Swiss trio that makes a heck of a lot of racket with just guitar, bass, and drums. A dark, muscular, and searing record.

Others: Tatvamasi, Zs

FCCs: None (instrumental)

1.(20:25) *** Locked mathy groove. This thing wastes no time in getting started. Gets into a harder edged jam. Then moves into Swans-style ambience. Hectic drums return. Guitar becomes anguished. Ends in a blissful, bass-led comedown…just kidding there’s one last freak out. Wow. This track goes places.
2.(2:03) * Thumping echoey drums and a whistle-like melody. Eerie, mood-setting track.
3.(3:26) *** Complex, frantic. Play this at 6am on a Monday morning and wake those commuters up.
4.(3:31) * Whirring electronics and hazy guitar. Really gorgeous. Drum-less.
5.(8:33) **** Wacky time signature. Really slick jam. Possibly my favorite track here.
6.(5:29) *** Calm but tense. Minimal composition that slowly adds more layer by layer. Feels a lot like the new Zs album honestly. What a weird wild album.
