Piano Rock / Pop. LA journey man writes piano ballads about lost love. A true talent whose delivery is natural and whose voice is as captivating as it is unique. He draws heavily in style from 1960’s/1970’s piano rock. A first listen might drum up comparisons to Randy Newman, Paul McCartney, and Elton John. RIYL: Randy Newman, Paul McCartney, Matthew E. White, Elton John, Father John Misty. FCC clean.
1. (3:55) Can’t Stop Thinking About You. ** Song about lost love. Simple major chords. Intimate.
2. (3:54) How Could You Babe. ** More lost love. Soulful and builds. Love it.
3. (5:11) Without You. ** Love song. Drawing on the 60’s/70’s male piano balladeer.
4. (3:25) Can We Still Be Friends. ** Love it. What a great voice and song. Beatles feel.
5. (2:16) The Wait. ** Simple finger picked melody on acoustic guitar with steady bass drum. Love song.
6. (6:10) Hollywood. ** Personal account of being a journey man in LA.
7. (3:10) For You. ** Soft vocals that match the treble line. Pretty and more complicated
8. (2:24) Crocodile Tears. Randy Newman with terrible lyrics. Annoying because he says “boohoo” a lot.
9. (4:30) Bad Words. ** Mellow and soulful. Hushed vocals, with organ and drum set.
10. (4:47) Just A Dream. ** Channeling Randy Newman. Love, love, love it. Please stop saying “Baby”
11. (4:26) Leaving LA. * Song about Jesso’s exit from the LA music scene.
12. (2:49) Tell The Truth. * Repetitive flat picked acoustic guitar. Channeling the Beatles. Strings.
