This Is The Sonics is the first new material recorded by the legendary 60’s garage Seattle band in over half a century. A strong set of loud, raw, mischievous, and particularly energetic tracks driven by their vocalists, Jerry Roslie and newcomer Freddie Dennis, who screams his lungs out every chance he gets. Play it now! RIYL: The Sonics. FCC CLEAN!! Recommended Tracks: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, and 12 1. (2:41) **I Don't Need No Doctor – A big fuck you to everyone who thinks old punks can’t rock. Play it now! 2. (2:22) Be A Woman – Great riff and chorus. Solid. 3. (2:08) **Bad Betty – The Sonics go punk! Yeah! 4. (2:56) **You Can't Judge A Book By The Cover – Amazing instrumentation, contagious beat, raspy vocals and simple lyrics are all you need. This is one of my favorite tracks. 5. (2:14) *The Hard Way – This one sounds like early Mudhoney. Punky as hell. 6. (2:36) **Sugaree – Little Richards goes punk. Another favorite! 7. (2:55) *Leaving Here – Garage rock at its best. Another solid track. 8. (3:33) Look At Little Sister – The bluesier track in the record. 9. (2:43) I Got Your Number – Garage rock 101. 10. (3:04) *Livin' In Chaos – Punk ballad. Loud and belligerent. 11. (3:04) Save The Planet – Blues meets garage. Somehow ecological. 12. (2:37) *Spend The Night – Another intense garage-punk moment. It will make The Kinks proud. |
