This is the 8th full length release from my very favorite band, Built To Spill. It is amazing, and for those of you who already love this band, you will not be disappointed I promise. For those of you who don't know, BTS is from Boise, Idaho, there are 5 band members, and their front man, Doug Marsch, has one of the sweetest, saddest, and most sincere voices in indie rock. The lyrics are always interesting and weird at times, the melodies are infectious, and there is much guitar noodling, long jams in the middle of songs, and lots of fuzzy distortion. Listen, love, enjoy :)
FCC CLEAN!!
Recommended Tracks: Play all, start with 2, 4, 8, 10
1. (6:15) All Our Songs - Long track, but like most long BTS trace, you dont even notice. Melody is great and driving and all of the playing is spot on to the last guitar noodle.
2. (4:23) Living Zoo - This reminds me so much of There's Nothing Wrong With Love in terms of fuzziness to melody ratio, so good.
3. (4:26) On The Way - A little mellower feel, still up tempo and still awesome.
4. (4:27) Some Other Song - Slower and fuzzier.
5. (3:15) Never Be The Same - More of the up tempo feel good version of BTS.
6. (4:21) C.R.E.B - A little darker, killer guitar riff.
7. (3:11) Another Day - More anthemic, big strumming, driving drums.
8. (2:44) Horizon To Cliff - This reminds me of Liar…great showcase of Doug's voice, beautiful, melodic, mellow, love.
9. (4:28) So - Down tempo, distortion, distant effects, and yet still maintains a sense of urgency.
10. (8:24) When I'm Blind - Uptempo and one of the best melodies yet and then finishes out in a BTS jam session.
