Eilen Jewell “Sundown Over Ghost Town” Label: Signature Sounds Joseph Reviewed 5/11/15 Jewell recorded this after returning home to Idaho after living ten years in the Northeast. Lots of autobiographical writing here, and fine music. 1 – (3:16) Worried Mind* Pretty mid-tempo country sound, fine. 2 – (2:54) Hallelujah Band* Haunting mid-tempo tune, very nicely done. 3 – (3:22) Rio Grande* Mid-up-tempo song in Tex-Mex style, terrific. 4 – (3:22) Half-Broke Horse* Sweet ballad of home, nostalgic, lovely. 5 – (3:22) My Hometown* Slow anthem to home, pretty imagery, sultry. 6 – (3:40) Needle & Thread* Mid-tempo country crooner, fun. 7 – (2:30) Down The Road Slow, bluesy, moody, decent track. 8 – (3:01) Some Things Weren’t Meant To Be Just so-so breakup song. 9 – (2:30) Pages* Mid-up-tempo shuffle, nice. 10 – (2:20) Green Hills Slow, languid, not much to this track. 11 – (3:17) Here With Me* Sultry, slow seductive crooner, fine. 12 – (3:05) Songbird Decent acoustic tune, Just Eilen & guitar & harmonica. | ||
