Exhaustion’s latest recording, Phased Out, is an EP containing two original tracks and two mixes – one for each song. The Melbourne noise rock trio, who describes their sound as “Antipodean harsh pub psyche,” gets loud and distorted under a continuous tribal beat channeling the intensity of early 1980’s New York no wave. Believable.

RIYL: Sightings, Swans, Lightning Bolt, A Place To Bury Strangers, and 1980’s Sonic Youth.

Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 3, and 4

1. (6:17) *Phased Out – Fast drumming, post-punk agile guitars, sinister vocals buried in the mix, distortions and then a forced noise rock silence.
2. (5:03) **Colleague – More fast drumming, agile guitars, sinister vocals buried in the mix, and lot more distortions. Ritualistic.
3. (6:23) **Phased Out (MIkey Young Remix) – Noise rock goes techno. Catchy.
4. (5:09) **Colleague (Rites Wild Remix) – Startling minimalist, semi-industrial interpretation.
