Fifth studio album release from Canadian Singer/Songwriter Dallas Green, who goes by City and Colour. I was absolutely blown away by this record. Incredible cover to cover. Soulful, melodic, heavy, beautiful. Play all of these songs. RIYL: Ray LaMontagne, Alabama Shakes, Death Cab, Bright Eyes. Favorite Tracks: ALL!! Espeicially: 2, 3, 7, 8 FCC Clean!! 1. (9:17) Woman – CRAZY start to this record, so pleasantly surprised. Heavy, soulful, sad, beautiful jam. So good. 2. (4:50) Northern Blues – Slightly faster paced, great melody, almost bluesy, but his voice is just amazing. 3. (3:59) Mizzy C – Guitar, organ, more soulful vocals, another awesome track. The vocal phrasing on this record are truly great. 4. (4:16) If I Should Go Before You - Down tempo, sweet, sad. 5. (4:21) Killing Time – Mid tempo, solid track but not a stand out. 6. (2:59) Wasted Love – Uptempo, attitude filled, this one will get stuck in your head. 7. (4:14) Runaway – some slide guitar gives this a southern twang, but it is still full of that soulful voice, super interesting, love this one. 8. (3:55) Lover Come Back – I really do love all f the songs on this record, this one is amazing, I could listen on repeat, uptempo, amazing vocals, all good here. 9. (2:52) Map of the World – Yet another great track, uptempo again, choruses are super cool and a little darker. 10. (4:59) Friends – Down tempo, more slide guitar, this one is heavy content wise, very sad but optimistic. 11: (5:17) Blood – Basically acoustic, beautiful, eery, great. | ||
