Helvetia is Jason Albertini from Built to Spill, this is their 9th record. Honestly, I have been listening to it in my car for weeks and I love it so much, one of the best things I have heard in a while. RIYL: Built To Spill, Pinback, Sebadoh, Dungen…etc Favorites: 1, 3, 5, 6, 11 (and all of the others.) FCCs: Track 7 and Track 8 1. (2:25) Bermuda - Lazy, easy, mid-tempo, great melody. 2. (2:59) The Rubber Maids - Fuzzy all the way through, super cool mix of rhythms and layers. 3. (3:18) A Dot Running For The Dust - One of the best. More fuzz, catchy mini-melody anchor, amazing lyrics. 4. (2:35) Rebel Beans - Meandering sounds, and eventual grumblings of "rebel beans!!" 5. (2:13) Crumbs Like Saucers - Another of my favorites, this one almost reminds me of Pinback, overall great downtempo and a little eery track. 6. Shower Radio - This song is amazing, that guitar riff is stupid good, and another overall very interesting combo of instruments and killer lyrics. 7. FCC SHIT Psychomagic - LOVE this song, so bummed it has an FCC. Listen to it on your own time, it is one of the best. 8. FCC SHIT See Saw Sow - This is another Pinback sounding track, love. also can't be played though :( 9. Olaf - This is not my favorite, a little to dark and stormy for me. 10. Pink Finish - Super cool sound, very echoey, all of the fuzz. 11. Dromomania - This one is great, almost has a bit of Dungen sound to it, beautiful instrumentation, more clever lyrics, really great track. 12. Feeling The Warm Hair - More of a straight forward indie rock track, guitar, drums, not much distortion, great end to the record. | ||
