Insect Factory – Flickering (Already Dead Tapes) Epic ambient post-rock noise from the DC area’s favorite guitar hero Jeff Barsky. He cranks it up to 11 on this one with some friends sitting in. Gnarly, psychedelic horizon-expanding stuff. RIYL Loren Connors, Oren Ambarchi, Taj Mahal Travelers 1. (29:39) chill ambient ringing and echoing drones, buzzing and screeching gets more intense as cicada swarms of static explode into massive walls of drone. After 10 mins a jazzy drum pulse comes in, followed by a hammered dulcimer solo (!) and some lumbering doom riffs conclude. 2. (23:24) a hazy whirlpool of drifting ambient loops, harsh buzzing noise, atonal string chirping and scattered percussive fills, ends on some dope-ass Terry Riley worship | ||
