Grimy, synth-heavy post-punk. This is the first release from a nascent Santa Rosa five-piece. (They played their first show in August 2015, opening for Terry Malts at a local punk shack.) It sounds like they listen to a lot of Joy Division, early 4AD, and the new Danish punks like Iceage and Lower. Good angsty music by disillusioned North Bay youth (see lyric snippets in the track-by-track). Favorites: 2, 3, 4. FCC WARNING: 6.

1. (2:32)—Medium-fast, with a long introductory dirge. “Doomed to repeat an unfulfilling life.”
2. *(1:24)—Fast, swirling, with a brief breakdown. “Apathy, apathy.”
3. *(1:54)—Fast, with a hardcore beat. “Threw my best years away.”
4. *(2:27)—Medium-fast, driving, more overtly political. “Immortalize the cowards in arms.”
5. (2:40)—Fast, galloping. “Man's a useless passion.”
6. (3:40)—FCC (s***). Slow, pounding, dissonant verses; more galloping in the choruses. “I've given up.”
