Skillful, charismatic 23 year old Afro-Cuban musician with great voice and great musical backing; long instrumental intros and interludes; shimmering lyrics; crisp endings; uses her voice as a true instrument

No FCC issues; Favorite tracks: 2, 5, 9

1-5:48- Madres --really interesting percussion along with voice and chorus. uptempo

*2- 3:31-Drama – starts slower, contemplative with piano accompaniment; speeds up and becomes intense – Spanish-- very jazzy; lovely piano

3-2:49 – Spanish; slower tempo

4-5:00- “Don't Unplug My Body” –English lyrics with scat – jazz piano with percussion

*5-3:57 – “Dust” – starts with solo bass riff –piano comes in, slow; contemplative; English lyrics

6-2:53-- “Come to Me” – Spanish and some English lyrics, slow with piano

7-3:53- nice mysterious percussive sounds to start; English lyrics, scat with whole phrases of glottal stops

8-4:46 – “El Ruso” --most classically Cuban sounding song on the CD – catchy dance tune

*9-2:39 – “Nino” --vocal percussion with voice over and electric organ underneath; unusual texture; segues to voice, piano, maracas (?) and a lullaby in Spanish

10-2:23 --”Nueva Era” – choir-like, shimmering
