Manhattan Camerata is an unusual chamber orchestra group that celebrates the music of Argentina and Portugal. This album combines tango music from Argentina with fado (blues) music from Portugal and the result is an uncommon album.
.Delightful & wistful track that combines the soul of fado with tango.
.Soulful opening that turns into a bright track – April in Portugal. Play it.
.An ode to Lisbon, and you can hear the yearning in the voice.
.Starts slow & picks up steam. You gotta Tango to this one.
.Soulful. A touching track that will put you in a pensive mood.
.Happy & delightful track. It has a familiar ring to it like you have heard it before.
.An emotional fado track enhanced with tango music.
.A piece that alternately makes you happy & whimsical.
.Dunno why but this track reminds me of an Indian raga with a strong dash of tango music. The title is rather an interesting one – Non-Absolutist Universal Theme.
.A languid start, which is a hallmark of tango music & it kind of stays that way.
.The tempo changes a bit in this track, but you sense a bit of dark undertone.
.Alternates between fast & mid-tempo. Delightful at times.
.A finale of sorts that goes through a whole range of emotions – from quiet to happy.
