Noyaux

Another hypnotizing ambient-drone release from Seattle's Tom Meluch, Noyaux is a mini-album inspired by Meluch's time combing through old family photos. Each piece represents a member of his immediate family: mother, father, brother, himself. Like Sonnet or his Stanza releases, the sound is hazy, grainy, warm, sweet, and slightly melancholy. 1. *(9:23)—A slow chiaroscuro swelling blanketed in the mass hum of cicadas.
2. (2:27)—Drowsy, sunny in a late afternoon kind of way.
3. (3:38)—Shadowy, a little more intense, with a slight pulse.
4. *(8:04)—Thick, airy, beautiful in a Zen-like way. Ends with a field recording from a birthday party.
