This is the 14th swans Album and the last with this current line up.Swans have never been ones for formalism, but The Glowing Man might be their most stream-of-consciousness effort yet. The band broadly follows basic dynamic principles – most songs here start soft and steadily ascend to an unhinged climax, before plummeting into the abyss- but they ultimately prove little more than a red herring.(pieced from a spin review)

Disc1
1.clouds of forgetting (12:43) lovely guitar and atmospheric sound. strumming to a buildup very swanish. Singing comes in around 4:20 very Gira like long drawn out words and sounds builds to a big banging of all the instruments then mellows for a piano ending.
2.clouds of unknowing(25:13))))really cool creepy frantic violin and shimmery cymbals right out the gate. Starts to build up around 3:30 violins& drums then drops to mellow pretty atmosphere sound. 6:30 cool kinda dark and sexy guitar and gira comes in and around 10: he is accompanied by beautiful fem voices at 15 there is a good old instrument bashing will epic fem voices mellows out and ends with gira singing I and washing your skin I am washing/ watching your son.
3.the world looks red/the world looks black(14:27)it's a mellow groove with repetitive phrases.after 8 min gets faster, weirder and darker. Ends ethereal
4. People like us(4:33))))creepy lounge act.weird sexy words he sings

1.frankie m(20:58))))ethereal fem voices and sounds adding more and more voices slowly turning into a gorgeous sound bath. At 8:25 an assault of instruments comes in very swans like. 11:00 mellows out and the Frankie m mantra begins and builds into cool quick eerie rock'n tune.
2. When will I return(5:27)slow minimal sound female vocals(Gira’s wife) song is about being raped.half way through builds up to male background vocals while she says I'm alive.
3.the glowing man(28:51)))weird sounds and noises and some guitar after 3:00 guitar strumming and chanting happen.then gets rock'n for a while. At 17:00 gira says things and sings about Joseph build to epicness then there is a crash followed by a grand cacophony ends with feed back and ethereal fem voices
4.finally, peace(6:15))))very nice sounds quite angles of light choir of voices glorious mind. Lovely tune.
