Unlike the dance drivin sample loop of Funkadelic’s Knee Deep, De La this time around has all orginal music and the funk is truly p-funk. From the funky horn section to the intro in that funky deep bass voice stating: ‘And in from the door steps a dumbass struts the fool's gold/ Know-it-all, and you wear it well/Funk-less in full length/Too square to stand for anything/Somebody get that man a chair’ you know you are entrenched in the funk.
