“Feel Like Going Home” The Songs of Charlie Rich
Charlie Rich was a Rock and Roll legend, a country superstar, a R&B soulman, a gospel performer and a jazz cat (according to his website). Certainly, the “silver Fox” touched almost everyone alive in America some way of another through his music. Most of the tunes sound familiar, and the diversity of the many different performers and styles make this album a rich and varied experience.
Best: 3,6,9,11,13. Funny quote from his wife, “As a farmer, Charlie was a pretty good piano player.”

1.med – upbeat- only hit single in Charlie Rich’s early career
2.slow/med - ballad- sounds vaguely familiar
3.med – rockabilly with female singer
4.slow – brooding song about bad luck
5.slow – country ballad with soulful, sultry female voice
6.med/fast – rockabilly – think young Elvis on rockin’ piano
7.slow – R&B sound- emotional
8.med- young Elvis rock & roll sound alike
9.slow- unique, modern sounding
10. med – rock & roll with motown influences
11.slow/med – blues ballad with extensive harmonica
12. med – strong early pop feel
13. slow – soulful, perfect end to album, as it was the final cut on Rich’s final album. Spiritual tune.
