Lead vocalist of one of the baddest, grooviest funk bands to come from ‘Nawlins. Plays some mean keys and writes for this album. No FCC issues. *** (3:31) Solid funk drive. ** (3:41) Title track. New Orleans anthem. * (4:25) Attempt at a rock love song. ** (3:54) Funky. A little organ play. ** (3:34) Low-key endearing song. More like Elton John than funk. *** (4:29) Light groove, medium pace. Great arrangement. Love song. I might really love this song if I heard it covered by a great singer. *** (2:58) Huh. Papa John makes funky country. It’s actually fun. * (3:11) Going for Elton John again. * (3:51) Kind of a ska song. **** (3:49) Funk-rocker. Redeems the record.
