Reviewed by: Kim Walter Oct 2016 Label: BMI Doug Adkins “Lonesome” Full bodied versatile voice that is nuanced and gentle, while being strong and real. His personality and genuineness comes through, and he just seems like a really nice guy. Very smooth, professional sound. This is meant as a “concept” CD, with each song a representing a particular stage in a new relationship, from falling in love to the inevitable (?) heartbreak. I couldn’t help but like this guy. He sounds like he would be great live. Best are #1, #5 and #7. 1.(4:09) med – upbeat. Hooked me at the beginning when he says “Oh, Yeah” in a chipper voice 2.(4:41) med – professional, smooth voice 3.(4:17) med – more traditional country two step 4.(3:56)med- nice song about the high point in a relationship |
