JAM FUNK. Legends of contemporary funk, New England’s Lettuce packs quite the punch of witty, upbeat jams. They’re that fast-paced, precise, loud, horn-driven, instrumental type of funk. Only track 6 has vocals, and they’re done very well. NO FCC’s.
1. (3:21) *** Astro-funk -- spacey modal funk to take you on a trip.
2. (3:06) *** Medium pace. Light, party-style dance funk. Smart, witty licks w/ a trump solo.
3. (0:35) ** Interlude. Slow + pensive.
4. (3:04) *** Laid-back funky walk. Spaces out to end.
5. (4:55) ** Afro-beatish, but not enough. Gets louder and softer.
6. (3:42) **** Soulful, strong female vocals in the vein of Grace Potter or Susan Tedeschi.
7. (1:17) ** Almost a spacey electro-hip-hop synth beat.
