Grimy refracted jungle/DnB percussion submerged in hazy atmospherics. Late night music, dark but very fun. Glitched-out and off-kilter, it ducks, dodges, stops, starts, hiccups, and folds in on itself, without ever losing its groove. Sounds like dozing off and then waking up at 11:30 pm and then getting stoned and going clubbing after midnight.
RIYL: Special Request, old Amon Tobin, Chevel, Laurel Halo
1. walking into fog, skittish beat emerges, stuttery from the get-go. bassline rolls in just after 1:00, distant indecipherable vocal samples throughout. quick fade out, feels more like the listener walked up to and walked away from a much longer track. 2:56
2. bass bleeps and clicky drums whir, slowly coming to life, distant female vocal snippets. the feel of machines warming up. slowly starts cohering. and then it's off to the races just before 2:00, though it continues to bob and weave all over the place. new slightly more sinister bass tones toward the end. slowly winds down, exiting as it entered. 5:00
3. static and rising percussion, mellow glockenspiel and tweaky jungle snare rolls rise up, eventually staccato kicks join in. beat is intermittently washed out by filter, tape echo, and other glitchiness. more melodic and percussive fragments slowly worm their way in. wordless female phonemes reverbed and looped for ambience. abrupt dissolve to end. 7:19
