World music indie rock band from Lincoln Heights neighborhood of L.A.with original bildungsroman stories and socially conscious lyrics by Pedro Martinez; lots of musical and lyrical energy; sounds very ska with reggae and other elements thrown in; cleaner, updated fusion Skankin' Pickle; very danceable

NO FCC's I could detect; favorite tracks: 3, 4, 6, 7, 8

1- Fire (3:39) – “rain on fire all I ever had”, graduating into the Great Recession; straight ahead electro-rock with auto-bio on taking up music

2—In Your Mind (2:47) – “In your mind, did you think I'm going to be a failure?”

*3—Chaingang (3:00) – “I heard the chaingang calling”... nice keyboard motif--

*4-- Wanna Go Home (4:11) – nice ensemble work; very danceable; Latin groove; nice guitar motif

5-- Turn the Knob (2:34) – ska sound – “tell us which side you're on”

*6- Negra Tomasa (3:09) – lovely caribe sounding beat to Spanglish lyrics

*7 - Paradise (4:17) – the hollowness of manufactured paradise; noir rock; catchy

*8- Cumbia Step (2:45) – cumbia/reggae, electro-rock; catchy; Spanish lyrics with celeste at end
