NSM’s deep, rich voice conveys surprising depth and emotion. It is also extremely gentle, as exemplified by #11. Diverse sounds emanate from only a guitar, fiddle, upright bass and percussion (except #6 has an electric guitar and #10 has a piano).
Best for me: 2, **3, 5, 9, 10
1. 3:11 slow/med- Nice lovesong without sounding sappy
2. 2:48 slow- ****INSTRUMENTAL **** very pleasant and enjoyable on the ears
3. 3:32 slow- much to my surprise, a toned down murder ballad with faint bluegrass vibe
4. 2:21 slow/med- Kenny Rogers/ grandpa vibe- I want him on MY side!
5. 3:09 slow/med- stories about life, nice fiddle
6. 4:59 slow- sad ballad about fate
7. 3:33 slow/med- amusing television persona
8. 2:58 slow/med – traveling song that fits the name
9. 3:08 med- traditional song about growing up in Carolina
10. 2:29 med- piano highlights in philosophical song
11. 2:39 slow- gentle voice in album namesake
