Sometimes I am really surprised by how an artist sounds versus how I think he should sound, and this guy really surprised me. Coming from a background of folk and Americana, Wilder Adkins has certainly found his distinct sound, exemplified by #1, 2, 5, 9, 11, 12. His themes include faith, doubt, hope, sorrow, and the all pervasive LOVE. My faves were: 4, 6, 7, 8

1. slow/med- mellow, pleasant, unobtrusive; voice sounds familiar
2. slow- gentle song about a gentlewoman
3. slow/med- lyrics summarize song “in love we are”; a happy, meandering tune
4. med- slightly nostalgic, traveling tune, upbeat
5. med- album namesake, best example of pure voice on album
6. slow- more variation in both melody and voice than anywhere else on album
7. slow/med- hopeful song about a happy, married future
8. med- INSTRUMENTAL- unique instruments including rainstick
9. slow- mellow, meandering, tremulous voice
10. slow/med- duet, lovesong
11. slow- Wilder’s classic sound
12. slow- another example of Wilder’s sound
