Emo with post-rock tendencies. From Yosemite Valley. Glowing, atmospheric, and confessional. Highly recommend also checking out From Indian Lakes’ back catalogue for something more post-hardcore-oriented. Related: Lydia, Dear and the Headlights, Triple Crown/Run for Cover 1. (3:37) Happy Machines—Wavering electronic intro. Tender emotional rock that steadily gets louder and more driving. 2. (3:39) ** The Monster—Loud, propulsive. Softer acoustic outro. 3. (4:59) *** Blank Tapes—Melancholy, chiming, catchy. 4. (3:34) ** Bare It—Mellow, swirling guitars and dreamy vocals. Goes to a really cool place. 5. (4:37) *** Hello—Haunting plucked guitars and echoey vocals. 6. (3:24) *** Feel Love—Uplifting, great groove. 7. (3:35) * American Dreams—Plodding, with a synth backing and drowsy vocals. 8. (3:35) Nome—Guitar loops and overdone vocals. 9. (3:46) *** Sunlight—Driving beat, chiming guitars, with a shining layer of voice. Super dreamy. 10. (5:28) ** Come Back—Slow, cloudy, with electronic piano loops in the first half. Epic post-rock finish. 11. (3:58) * Lose Myself—Off-kilter, folky guitars and vocals bathed in reverb. Eventually changes to a more glowing post-rock style. 12. (4:01) ** Rid of It—Several hazy vocal layers over distant looped keys. Organ and drum machine close things out. | ||
