Strange Times

This is a duo, guitar/vocs and drums. Power pop. The singer/guitarist splits his guitar off to another amp, a bass amp, after dropping its tone with a pitch changer. The effect is strongly that of a 3 piece power rock band but with a unique tone, avoiding the whole “no bass player” recipe that wears thin after a song or two. Throw in the fact that the singer practically doesn’t need a PA as he sings with such force and energy, this is powerful power pop. Melodic and catchy, but heavy and dirty in all the right places. The drummer is one of those guys who practically drums himself off his stool. Loud band, I caught these guys open for Lala Lala at the DC9 Club in Washington DC about a month ago. What a joy. This was a free CD.
