Dan Mills, “Something Good”
I’ve always loved leather jackets with fringe, so looking at the masterwork of a fringed leather jacket with the words “Something Good” on the album jacket, I wondered if this album was perhaps more than the usual country fare. Turns out it was, and I quote, “Even his more traditional country rock is marked by untraditional, interesting and sometimes poignantly ironic lyrics.” Nice variety, I liked: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11

.Med - Upbeat country rock with amusing and ironic lyrics
.Med - nice electric Guitar solo at beginning - guitar heavy rockabilly
.Slow/med - Totally different acoustic/folk rock
.Fast/High voltage country rock, tongue twisting lyrics
.Slow/Med - Unique strumming style that creates texture
.Med - Cross between country rock, island, and lounge
.Slow - Acoustic folk story
.Med - Vintage rock and roll, optimistic mood echoed by clarinet
.Slow/Med - “Americana” with moral
.Med - Vocally dominant, pleasant
.Med/Fast - Country rock with hints of Bluegrass, opens with piano
.Slow/Med - “easy listening”, almost jazz backing to vocals
