Astronauta Pinguim is the stage name of Brazilian electronic musician Fabricio Carvalho. Here he plays various Moog synthesizers, a Theremin, drum machines, and effects. The venue’s name would translate as House of World Cultures. The track titles, Flüssige Musik, mean Liquid Music or Fluid Music.

All instrumental. No FCC issues

1 Slow. The wind, at first quiet, then louder. Bursts of steam, circling ‘round the speakers. Grumbling sounds. Midway, violin tones morph into sirens. After 6:30, a melody with a reedy tone. Electronic pulses: warning, danger, tension. At 9:30 a Theremin. Fade. (11:26)

2 * Mid-slow. Gentle interlude. Opens with a pretty, pastoral melody using electric piano tones. Swirling synth’d strings accompany. (2:22)

3 * Mid-tempo. A clip-clop enters, pianissimo, from afar. A drum machine, including snare and cymbal, works up a jazzy riff. Add machinery sounds. ~ 2:00 a melody forms. Many layers & textures all at once. The feeling is dark, ominous. After 6:00, fade to nothing then continue with part 4. A repeated quarter note sets a beat; add noises, which speed up. After 7:00 an extended “drum solo” approximates tom toms and high hat. At 9:20 the wind is back from part 1. Machinery sounds. Sudden stop at 10:15… applause. (11:00)
