“ANGUIS DEI represents True Satanik Black Metal. It represents the extremity of Hellish Orchestral Black Metal: harsh, majestic, and spectral soundscape based on Satanism, Demonology and the True Primordial Black Metal tradition”. Bout sums it up – complete with orchestral tones, church organs. “Prepare for entering the Gates and taking a dark journey into the malign realms of Satanik Magick.” People associate this stuff with “evil” and “demons” but personally, I find this fascinating if not a little comedic, reminding me more of Frank Zappa in its sure audaciousness, over top “ -isms”, where all instruments just go overboard and no opportunity for cinematic pomp is missed. Not sure but it seems Norwegian.
1)* (5:32) operatic symphonic drama intro: then pummeling nuclear blast Black Metal, over the top drama 2) (5:56) lots of strings, pummeling 3) (3:36) minor toned grand piano solo 4)* (5:30) searing acidic demonic roaring out the gates of hell, vocals get pretty funny toward end
