Chris Murphy,”The Tinker’s Dream”
Original Irish fiddle music- That pretty much sums it up. Sometimes I get annoyed when there is too much promo info on an album, but I’d like to know more about these songs… Like “Gibraltar 1988”. It’s obviously a story; you hear it in the tune. This is a mix of traditional sounding Irish instrumental music and upbeat fun songs. Thank you Chris Murphy and friends for forcing me to learn what a reel is. (Look it up - you’ve probably seen a form of it) Best for me: 2, 5, 7, 8, 12

1. Med - Playful, reel
2*. Slow - Slow and mournful beginning, then interesting tune builds intensity
3. Med - Instrumental jig
4. Med - Song with Irish instruments
5*. Slow - Obviously a story, nice, intriguing
6. Med/Fast - Jig/dancing song
7*. Slow/Med - Fun sounding hornpipe instrumental
8*. Med - Pop song. I didn’t like it at first, but it’s actually pretty
9. Med - Traditional sounding Irish jig
10. Med - Traditional sounding Irish jig
11. Med - Traditional sounding Irish jig
12*. Slow/Med - Waltz- Fiddle sings true
