Five years since her stunning dream pop debut, Melody Prochet’s return is initially a baffling one. Its Kevin Parker-fuelled sound has been ditched for a complex, experimental style that’s more reminiscent of avant-garde krautrockers Can. Bon Voyage's richness resides exactly in its ability of awakening both the sweet and the sour in each and every one of us, confirming the omnipresence of a lining of sadness that envelops the generality of human perception.

Play: 1, 2, 7

1.Cross My Heart (6:55) Classic jangly indie guitar riffs, double-bass-and-flute fusion.
2.Breathe In, Breathe Out (2:50) Fully-fledged psych-pop monster, waves of luxurious pop and killer melodies.
3.Desert Horse (5:14) Loopy, polyrhythmic blend of samples with digitized vocals.
4.Var Har Du Vart? (1:28) Short and relatively straightforward Swedish folk song.
5.Quand Les Larmes D'un Ange Font Danser La Neige (7:07) Jazzy drum fills are silenced by a grossly scatalogical spoken-word passage.
6.Visions of Someone Special, On a Wall of Reflections (4:55) Warped indie-funk stacking strings and synths.
7.Shirim (4:46) Extroverted feel, with loosely disco guitar licks.
