Guitar centered jams, mindful and trippy. Hate to say post rock because this is far more exciting. Their bandcamp site sums it up well, objectively: “This is the debut album from Svarta Stugan, Swedish experimental rock/twee-noise band. A musical journey running in the vein of atmospheric groups like Earth and Mogwai, in places touching on cinematic composers such as Philip Glass or Ennio Morricone. The songs presented here follow strong post-rock sensibilities, building crescendos, a clear taste for melody and intense dynamics. Islands is a clear theme for the music and each song feels like a short movie, each with an accompanying mood, it's own weather and topography.”

1)* (5:07) slow mindful guitar led plod very Earth desert rock feel 2) (6:27) a slow waltzing mindful plod, midway it shifts into a near hopeful upbeat tone 3)* (9:03) sorta theramin’y spooky outer space guitar jam, midway it shuts down and become dramatic and mellow, returns to super spacey crazed guitar stuff 4) (1:43) brief, guitar melodies, no real beat builds up 5) (5:07) another big dramatic jam 6) (6:44) starts with quiet guitar picking, slowly some pretty big bass joins, a quiet melody, laid back drums 6) (6:31) post rock feel, chill but upbeat
