Evil Triplet is a heavy psych trio from Austin, TX. Have A Nice Trip finds the space rock behemoth returning with a fresh batch of psych rock that continues in the band's lysergic direction while simultaneously growing in terms of songcraft and adding a new aggressive explosive edge. Once again the band uses the studio to its full potential adding mellotron, keyboards and swirling synths and electronics to their gutar, bass and drum core. Like: Acid Mother's Temple, Bardo Pond, Comets on Fire FCC Clean Play: 4, 5 1.Space Kitten (3:56) Space-tripping lyrics, and a general aura of extradimensional haze. 2.A Day Like Any Other (7:35) Distortion, winding melodies, propulsive rhythms. 3.Aren't You Experienced? (7:48) Astronautical lyrics, whooshing electronics. 4.Open Heart (5:59) Churns out its riff before descending into some bubbling noise. 5.Pyramid Eye (4:34) Morass of anonymity though, and although you can hear the screaming desperation. 6.Apparition (8:32) This song is either a space-ballad or a road rager. | ||
