Country rock/Americana debut album from The Berries from Seattle, Washington. Feels like a country album, but with distorted/filtered and drawn out vocals
RIYL: Pinegrove, Sinders, The Green Beans
No FCCs detected
Favorites: 3,4, 8
1. (3:16) Salvation — Feel-good, country guitar, slightly distorted, drawn out vocals
2. (3:40) Security Blues — Starts with highly dissonant noise, turns slow, beautiful guitar solo that stretches from 2nd half to end, cuts off with about 5 seconds to spare
3. (1:11) **Waitin’ Around For You — Faster tempo, sounds like a more distorted and reluctant flirty country song
4. (3:59) **Turn It Away — Feels free and out of focus, like a Friday afternoon
5. (5:17) Junkyard Dog — Dreary, sounds like a rainy day with some country twang, really great distorted noise + long ~2min guitar solo in second half, cuts off with 7 seconds to spare
6. (3:23) Lonely Gods — Angsty, feels more rock in country-rock, last 30 seconds are distorted noise
7. (3:14) Need You By My Side — Drawn out, laid back, roughly last ~1min is a nice guitar solo, cuts off with 5 seconds to spare
8. (2:46) **Chains of Hate — Relatively upbeat, last 45 seconds is instrumentation, cuts off with 4 seconds to spare
9. (3:28) Live To Please — 1st half has highly dissonant, distorted, and suppressed vocals, 2nd half is slightly less dissonant, distorted instrumentation, cuts off with 7 seconds to spare
10. (4:33) * Kingdom — Really great instrumentation in the last 90 seconds, cuts off with about 5 seconds to spare
