Mr. Bones Reviewed 2019-04-30 | ||
I’ll Sing – Shannen Moser (as told by Mr. Bones) In her sophomore release Moser presents a sound that is as simple and spare as her native Pennsylvania farm town. There is truly some gestalt here that turns the sum of her untrained voice and simple guitar work into a heartfelt listening experience. Her raw singing voice coupled with a unique guitar style and a just enough bottom from a restrained rhythm section make for an evocative sonic offering. Whether she's channeling Hazel Dickens in Hallelujah or Gillian Welch in Joanna, she presents a visceral sound that fits well with in any folk, country or indie show.
