American singer songwriter of the highest order, on par with the greats of folk, country. Though he lived a life of destitution, drug addiction, mental illness, his works and relationships were well revered, legendary. He passed in 1997 but these are newly discovered versions of his music. Low fi simple element. All just him and a guitar (if there are overdubs I missed them) and could be recorded with a simple battery powered machine in the shack he lived in during the ‘70’s that had no running water, electricity. His song Pancho and Lefty made famous by Willie Nelson and Emmy Lou graces this collection.
