Shitkid a lo-fi, half-finished, fully formed, sneering, apathetic, fully committed, glorious mess. ShitKid began as a solo project for Swedish teen Åsa Söderqvist back in 2015, gradually becoming something more than a hobby as time progressed. Evolving to become a four-piece, the band's debut album was an underground sensation in their home land, and earned extensive international acclaim. Here in the second full-length [Detention], this is taken further in the studio format, especially as the duo picks up additional musicians to fill in the sound image so that it will resemble nineties punk rock adjacent to the grunge. In other words, clearer meatier than we are used to from here, yet no illogical development for the one who noted ShitKid's development as a live act.
