Debut album from a group called “the first family of weird and obscure old-time American music.” It’s a SF Bay area couple with influences and experiences from all over the musical spectrum who play and sing with their daughter and four other musicians. REALLY FUN AND WACKY LYRICS. Interesting and unique mix of traditional country/bluegrass roots vocal stylings. Varied; every song is radio worthy. My faves were: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, but PLAY THEM ALL!!
2:59 - med - Thompsonia’s unique sound with some rockin’ guitar
3:30 - slow/med - vintage sounding blues rock
2:50 - slow - sweet harmony filled love song
2:22 - med - fun and funky; old time Americana sound
3:33 - slow - old timey song about a dog
2:33 - med - upbeat, eclectic “analgesic aphrodesiac”
2:55 - slow - a fun, old-timey song about a broken heart
2:57 - med/fast - lively Bluegrass instrumental
3:44 - slow - daughter Allegra trades vocals with mom in a bluesy tune
2:50 - med - gritty bluesy song about a bad mood. Funny
