From St Loius: Big dark doom infused heavy rock, metal in more classic sense (not Black, not Death), heavy screamed vocals, solid beats, chugging walls of Marshalls. 1)* (5:23) Fabio Frizzi: fades in with impending synth, finally a deep slow doomy plod ensues with dark guitar that embodies the album title, segues into next track well (play together?) 2)* (7:27) Smelltalica: cool solid head nodding beat with a big church bell gonging (its “for whom the bell tolls” after all), slips into darkness 3) (7:02) Slayer: more of a basic mid paced rocker, head rockin intensifies, blends into next 4) (3:20) FCC “fuckin” Darkthrone: upbeat rocker, almost moshable , great track play in safe harbor 5) (7:57) Danzig: starts with quiet introspective guitar and finally lets loose after 4+ minutes into a slow desperate screamed dark plod 6)* (3:05) Hellhammer: fast, then grind’y slow, then fast, you get it 7) (6:50) Pungent Stench: big heavy proto-doom with some audible chorus on guitars, soaring spacey guitar leads, heavy and doomy trippy, about 2/3rd way through it shifts to a double time triplet intensity, then back again to the plod 8)* (6:26) “re-recorded” non-cover: holy hellish desperate anguish on a hockey stick, get this man some Prozac and Demerol stat, a mid-slow doomed deathly march into a grave
